Why Collabay

Software that respects the craft.

Board game publishers make beautiful, physical, joyful objects. The tools they use to make them weren't designed for any of that — they're a patchwork of generic SaaS, manual exports, and email threads.

We're building Collabay because publishers deserve infrastructure that matches the quality of what they ship. Not another design canvas. Not another project tracker. An operations platform that understands titles, components, playtesters, factories, and languages as first-class concepts.

And one that grows with you — from your first title to your fiftieth.

01

Portfolio-first, not project-first

You're running a slate of titles, not one game in isolation. Collabay starts there.

02

Game-aware, not generic

Bleed, die-lines, CMYK, card-back mirroring, language layout breakage — built in, not improvised.

03

Your work, never locked in

Clean exports, open formats, no vendor hostage situations. Your titles belong to you.

FAQ

Honest answers, even early on.

We're in early build. The first private release will go to a handful of design partners later this year, with broader availability following after we've shaped the product around real publisher feedback. Joining the waitlist puts you on the shortlist for partner access.
Board game publishers and studios — typically those running between 3 and 50 titles in active pipeline, working with a mix of internal staff and freelance collaborators. If you ship physical games and your operations have outgrown spreadsheets, you're who we're building for.
Most existing tools target the individual designer building one game at a time. Collabay is built for studios running portfolios — with multi-title views, manufacturing-grade BOMs, multi-language workflows, and rights tracking. We aim to integrate with the indie tools where they already do something well, rather than competing with them.
Pricing will be flat per workspace, scaled to studio size. Specifics will be finalized closer to launch — early partners will get founding-member terms locked in.
Join the waitlist with your studio email and you'll be considered for the design partner program. We're talking with a small group of publishers to shape the product — if that sounds like you, mention it when we follow up.
