Why Collabay

Software that respects the craft.

A title moves through many contributors before it reaches a player — designers, illustrators, playtesters, translators, factories. Most of that work happens in tools that weren't built for board games, and none of them know the others exist. We thought that was worth fixing.

We're building Collabay so publishers finally have software that knows what a title is, what a playtest is, what a print run is. Not another design canvas. Not another project tracker. Something that thinks about your studio the way you do.

And one that grows with you — from your first title to your fiftieth.

01

One version of the truth

No more final_v3_FINAL.pdf. Every card, rule, and playtest is tied to the exact version it belongs to — so you always know what changed, and why.

02

Feedback that doesn't get lost

Playtest notes land next to the cards and rules they're about — not in a notebook, a spreadsheet, or someone's inbox. The fix is one click from the complaint.

03

Print-ready the first time

Bleed, specs, and card backs handled for you — and a cost per copy you can see before you commit to a print run. No more files bounced back by the factory.

FAQ

Honest answers, even early on.

We're in early build. The first private release will go to a handful of board game studios later this year, with broader availability following after we've shaped the product around real publisher feedback. Joining the waitlist puts you on the shortlist for partner access.
Board game publishers and studios — typically those running between 3 and 50 titles in active pipeline, working with a mix of internal staff and freelance collaborators. If you ship physical games and your operations have outgrown spreadsheets, you're who we're building for.
Most existing tools target the individual designer building one game at a time. Collabay is built for studios running portfolios — with multi-title views, manufacturing-grade BOMs, multi-language workflows, and rights tracking.
Pricing will be flat per workspace, scaled to studio size. Specifics will be finalized closer to launch — early partners will get founding-member terms locked in.
Join the waitlist with your studio email and you'll be considered for the design partner program. We're talking with a small group of publishers to shape the product — if that sounds like you, mention it when we follow up.
